Law Centre Unveils New WebsiteDate:09.08.2017
Ballymun Community Law Centre has launched a new website offering up to date, easily understood legal information for those needing access to expert advice and support.
The Law Centre was established in 2002 to tackle an unmet legal need in the Ballymun. Since then, the Centre has built an expert legal team providing free legal advice, information and representation to residents within the community.
"We are delighted to be finally sharing our new look website with everyone, said Catherine Hickey, Chairperson of the Law Centre. The objective of the website is to address the need for basic legal information and access to advice on legal rights and entitlements. We have worked hard to ensure that the site is user-friendly, easy to navigate and easy to read - so that users have immediate access to the support and information they need - literally at the touch of their fingertips.
"This is day one of the site however we are committed to regularly updating content whenever law and/or policy changes to ensure that the Law Centre continues to provide relevant services and resources.
"For those with more complex cases, the site allows users to easily access the different services that the centre offers including our telephone helpline; one-to-one appointments with our community solicitors; access to our legal advice clinics; our community and family mediation service; as well as the Centre's programme of legal education".
The website and branding were designed by Post. Andrew McNamee, Post commented, "We set out to build a brand for the Law Centre that echoed the spirit of the Ballymun community. The first task was to update the branding. We decided to keep the iconic scales of justice as the focal point and create other iconography to represent the Centre's other services. Once this was established, we worked closely with the Centre's staff to develop a content plan followed by wireframes and prototyping of the website. Our colleague David Doran worked particularly hard building the site and making sure that it would display well on all devices. Overall we had a great experience working on the project and we're delighted with the outcome."
Our new website has been made possible by the generous support of the Public Interest Law Support Fund, the Law Society of Ireland, our board of directors and all of the team at the Law Centre. The website was designed by Post.
